2001 Mercedes-Benz SL280 Automatic finished in Tanzanite Blue Metallic with Beige leather interior - just over 70, 000 miles from new.
A fundamentally honest and useable modern classic offered as an ideal summer project at sensible money. Just 4 former keepers, with the previous owner retaining the car for over 17 years. Supplied with V5, 2 original keys, book packs, manuals and supporting history file including engine, gearbox and brake fluid servicing.
Importantly, the car comes with an advisory-free MOT until March 2027, making it a great rolling restoration to improve and enjoy. The engine does occasionally misfire which we haven’t investigated.
Cosmetically, the car would benefit from further improvement. The Tanzanite Blue paint would respond well to a full machine polish, while the front/ rear bumpers and front wings would benefit from repainting and cosmetic attention. The alloy wheels also show bubbling and would ideally need refurbishment.
Inside, the cabin is complete and presentable but would benefit from reconnollising and detailing to really lift it again.
The soft top is in good condition with no rips or tears and operates correctly, however the hydraulic roof system currently leaks fluid and will require attention. Factory hardtop included.
