Presented in 'lemon yellow', this Chappy has covered only 800 miles from new. This compact two‑stroke runabout produced during the late 1970s and early 1980s is now increasingly sought after for its quirky styling and light, versatile performance. Designed as a fun, go‑anywhere machine, the Chappy combined a robust 79cc engine with a semi‑automatic gearbox, low seat height and folding handlebars, making it equally at home in urban settings, on campsites, or as a practical paddock bike.
This example presents well for its age, retaining the important playful aesthetic that has made the Chappy a cult favourite among small‑capacity Yamaha collectors. The engine runs and the bike rides well. Increasingly scarce in complete form, the LB80 has become a collectable in its own right, appreciated for its simplicity, charm and unmistakable period character.
