Description

An original right hand drive example that has always been regarded as a very fine example in Daytona circles, with just 37, 000 miles covered from new. Finished in the great original shade of silver, Argento Auteuil with black leather interior and featuring factory air conditioning, the car was supplied new on the 10th May 1972 by Maranello Concessionaires to H W Motors of Walton on Thames as detailed in the factory build records and invoicing on file. H W Motors had ordered the car for their local customer, Mr Jeremy Agace, a well-known collector and historic racer who owned a fine collection of cars over many decades.

The Daytona was enjoyed in its early life such that the mileage had reached 18, 384 miles by the time of its first MOT in July 1972, unusually all of these early original MOT certificates remain on file with very few gaps to date meaning we can confirm the low recorded mileage with some confidence.

Over the years the car has been very well looked after as detailed in the extensive history files and the list of owners is like a roll call of the UK’s well-known and respected collectors. In early 2012 the drivetrain was fully rebuilt. The engine was treated to twelve brand new old stock Borgo pistons and each liner bored and honed as required. The cylinder head was skimmed and new exhaust guides fitted, allowing the use of unleaded fuel.

One of the finest of the 158 UK supplied Daytonas, it drives beautifully and retains a wonderful original feel. It comes complete with the above-mentioned history files that detail its life from new to date.
