The appeal
Developed under the project name “Utah Mk III”, the Jaguar S-Type 3.8 was produced from 1963 to 1968 to offer a more refined alternative to the famed Mk II. With an independent rear suspension, a more spacious boot and a more elegant roofline, it delivered a more luxurious and better-resolved grand touring experience. Praised by the press for both its comfort and its agility, it quickly established itself as a genuine sports saloon worthy of Jaguar’s reputation. With only around 7,000 cars built, surviving examples are now especially sought after.
This 1964 S-Type 3.8, Left-hand drive and finished with cream bodywork and a fine red upholstery, has had just two owners over the last 30 years. In 2022 it benefited from a major mechanical renovation carried out by Jaguar specialist RSC, costing €14,000. Work carried out in 2017 included, in particular, chassis protection, applying resin treatment to both fuel tanks, and replacing the dampers and tyres.image.png1.66 MB
