The Appeal
Pick-up trucks are an American institution. There are plenty to choose from, but we'll wager few are nearly as capable as this rare 1970 GMC K2500. This long-bed classic pickup is much rarer than its Chevrolet counterpart and benefits from a famously robust four-wheel drive system. The leaf-sprung Dana 44 front end is what gives the K2500 its legendary "go-anywhere" reputation. Seldom seen in the US, let alone here in the UK, these trucks are too good to miss, and we're delighted to be offering such an original example.
According to DVLA data, this truck was imported in October 2021, and our vendor acquired it in May 2022. Since then, the vendor has sourced Cragar steel wheels from the USA and fitted them with new tyres. Finding the original bodywork and chassis to be very solid, the original patina has been sealed in with linseed oil treatment, while any missing parts were located and refitted. The vendor has also gone through the brakes, cooling system, and fitted an upgraded blower fan to warm the cabin. The seat covers were renewed, as was the dashboard top, since both had been ravaged by the California sun.
For those in search of a genuine patina truck, this capable 4x4 GMC ticks all the right boxes.
