The Appeal
As the last of the original SWB E-Types before the revised Series 3, and a car that incorporates all the improvements Jaguar made since 1961, the Series 2 is the choice for enthusiasts who want the original style but still want to get out and use their cars.
This very tidy silver metallic LHD FHC is a good choice for European classic touring and comes to market with a long list of recent mechanical investment. It is a USA car that spent its life in dry Texas before being repatriated in 1990. It remained with the same keeper until 2025, when the current keeper acquired it. The factory colour scheme, including a lovely cabin recently retrimmed in correct blue leather, is retained and verified by the JDHT certificate.
The mechanical work is documented via invoices, notes and photos in the large history file and includes rebuilding the engine and gearbox and upgrading the clutch. Other work is listed below and includes sympathetic upgrades. The vendor describes the bodywork as straight with nice paintwork, the interior as very clean, and the mechanical condition as top class. MOT exempt, this is presented as a well-sorted, usable E-Type with meaningful mechanical upgrades already carried out.
