The Appeal
Key to the Traveller’s enduring appeal is its unusual combination of family car simplicity and hand-crafted woodwork. These distinctive cars have woven their way into the life of countless families and are a wonderful homage to the skills of Britain’s 1950s and 60s motoring artisans.
This car was acquired by the seller in 2021 from specialist Charles Ware and sports the very rare finish of Aqua Blue. We are told that, before being prepared for sale by the Bristol-based Moggy experts, it was part of a museum. As you might expect from those two facts, it is in very good condition. The all-important woodwork presents well and has been finished correctly with yacht varnish.
The car looks factory standard but features some useful upgrades to improve drivability and reliability. These include an alternator and electronic ignition plus upgraded suspension and front disc brakes.
The vendor tells us that he has covered only 2,000 miles since buying the car. He has serviced it and it is sold with a service kit for the new buyer. There was a useful voluntary MOT in June 2023 to add transparency for those buyers.
The vendor says:
“It’s lovely to drive and and because of the suspension and brake upgrades can be driven with confidence
“Every time I drive it it puts a smile on my face and others who are all quick to comment on parking it up in the public domain especially the unusual colour Aqua Blue which is an original but rare colour.”
