The Appeal
If your plan to use your classic, the trick when buying one is to find a car where someone else has done the work for you. That’s exactly what we have here. It comes to market fresh from over £3,000 of work that covered cosmetics and mechanicals. There is even a useful voluntary MOT to add transparency.
A BMIHT certificate verifies that this car retains its factory Leyland White paint colour. The paint is neatly accented with a pair of rare MG side stripes and a set of classic Rostyles. It is also fitted with the desirable overdrive unit that makes long drives more relaxing.
Since 2024, the car has received a long list of improvements, ranging from clutch, brake overhaul, electronic ignition and new plus which leads to a replacement hood in smart red. There are also four new matching Vredestein tyres, which were fitted in July. Also this year the car has been serviced, fitted with a new Bluetooth radio and boot carpet. The differential seal and oil have been replaced and the screen washer pump renewed.
There are a few points to note in the photos. But with the reassurance of that MOT, which contains no structural advisories, this looks like a very usable example of MG’s venerable B.
The vendor says:
“It's a presentable, smart example but has some small areas of corrosion, notably on the bootlid and driver's side front wing. Rear arches have previously been repaired. Factory overdrive (working) and Rostyle wheels (centres now picked out in red).”
