The Appeal
The Citroën 2CV is one of the most iconic and endearing cars ever produced. Its air-cooled flat-twin engine, interconnected suspension, and featherweight construction combine to create a driving experience quite unlike anything else on the road, and a devoted following ensures specialist support to this day.
This 1987 example has benefited from an extensive rebuild carried out by the well-regarded 2CV Shop, with over £20,000 invested in the work. All major components were reportedly replaced using new or reconditioned parts, including a galvanised replacement chassis and new bodywork, addressing the two areas where 2CVs are most vulnerable. The rebuild is documented with invoices on file.
Purchased by the current owner in 2018, the car has been enjoyed and looked after over the past seven years. The vendor states it is in near-new condition, with only one or two small scratches noted. Adding a touch of provenance, the car was featured in the May 2025 issue of 2CVGB News magazine, a copy of which will be included in the sale. Finished in black, a striking and uncommon colour for the 2CV, this is a well-sorted example which ready to be driven and enjoyed.
