The Appeal
After decades of watching Porsche run away with the sports car crown, Aston’s compact V8 Vantage finally took the fight directly to the 911. Agile, eminently plantable and brutally quick, the new car was imbued with the sort of character and charisma only an Aston can provide.
These, then, are very good cars. Especially so when, as here, they are fitted with the slick 6spd manual box. That engaging drivetrain makes the most of the rear drive set up and 380bhp 4.3L hand-built V8. This 2006 car has that engine and gearbox and is classically painted in popular Meteorite Grey metallic with an Obsidian Black leather cabin.
Thanks to the low mileage, the car presents very well. There are a few lights signs of age to note in the description and photos, which could arguably be lived with or easily rectified. The car comes to market with a very recent service by model specialist Koch’s Garage and long TUV inspection which are are told contained no advisories. Other recent work has included four new tyres, cabin filter, brake fluid change and a new battery.
The vendor says:
“The car represents what many enthusiasts consider the most desirable specification of the early V8 Vantage: the original 4.3-litre engine paired with a manual transmission, finished in the timeless combination of Meteorite Silver over Obsidian Black leathert. The design by Henrik Fisker and Ian Callum has aged beautifully and remains one of the most elegant and instantly recognisable sports car designs of the 21st century. Last but not least, the naturally aspirated V8 delivers an unforgettable soundtrack that guarantees a smile on your face and creates lasting memories every time you head out for a drive.”
