Description
Imported from the South of France late last year, this is the earliest example of these vans in the UK, and a rare find anywhere. Chassis number 13307 was originally built as an Ambulance for the fire department and was then sold to a private owner in 1975 where it remained until I purchased it last year. The original red paint can still be detected below the later grey.
The van has all the rare early features that changed as the years went on as well as features from its early life as an Ambulance. Because it remained in the same district of France all its life, it still carries its original registration number.
There is a full ownership history with the van and is is a most interesting example for any enthusiast of the type.
It needs to be recommissioned, but is very solid so will not require any welding for the MOT. Brakes will need overhauling, and although I have had the engine running, it 'spits back' through the carb so I suspect that some valves may be stuck after years of inactivity. should be easy to sort.
Altogether a very unusual opportunity for a Citroen enthusiast.
