The Appeal
The MG TD is one of the most sought-after British sports cars of the early 1950s. It combines the traditional charm of the T-series with notable mechanical advances, such as independent front suspension and rack-and-pinion steering. Its 1,250cc engine and four-speed manual gearbox make it a delightful car to drive, while its classic styling continues to win over enthusiasts.
This 1953 example is an original, unrestored car which the seller describes as being in very good presentable condition. Painted red with a black interior, it retains its period character while, according to the seller, having benefited from a thorough mechanical refresh. The brakes and tyres are also said to have been replaced. Registered in France with a collector's registration certificate, this TD offers an appealing balance between authenticity and mechanical upkeep.

✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as written off following a total loss at the time the listing is placed on Car & Classic and we provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) to help you. The presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle's status, and it is always worthwhile to carry out a full vehicle history check before bidding on it.
