The Appeal
Triumph's muscular six-cylinder roadster remains one of the most enduring British sports cars in history, and the TR6 fares particularly well, thanks to its illustrious pairing of a torquey 2.5-litre engine with Lucas petrol injection for strong, responsive performance. With overdrive fitted, it becomes a capable and rewarding long-distance tourer, exactly the role this car was prepared for.
This 1972 example has been comprehensively upgraded with a host of mechanical improvements and new components, all detailed below. Importantly, this is not a car that has simply been rebuilt and left to languish on the driveway - the vendor has completed the Club Triumph 10 Countries Run in both 2024 and 2026, as well as the Round Britain Reliability Run in 2023, all reportedly without a single mechanical issue.
Finished in red with professionally ceramic-coated paintwork, a black mohair soft top and new black leather seats with red piping, this is a cracking example through-and-through. Accompanied by invoices totalling approximately £50,000, this much-loved roadster is now ready and waiting for its lucky new keeper. IMG_6751 Rob Dickinson.jpeg8.35 MB
