The Appeal
The BMW 2002 Tii is one of the most revered sporting saloons of the early 1970s. Its Kugelfischer-injected engine delivered a level of performance that made it a natural candidate for competition, and the model has long been a favourite among rally enthusiasts. UK right-hand drive examples are particularly sought after.
A previous owner discovered this car as a barn find in 2011 while searching for a strong donor to develop into a capable rally machine. It was entrusted to Kevin Savage Motorsport with a clear brief: build a car capable of winning LeJog. That goal was achieved when it won LeJog 2012. Since then, it has completed six LeJog events in total, securing four golds and two silvers: a consistent and competitive record.
Unlike many rally cars, the historical records suggest this example has been well looked after throughout its competition life, having been maintained to a high standard. This is a proven, well-documented rally car with a notable competition record.IMG_1000 ayrton.jpg12.62 MB
