The Appeal
There are numerous aftermarket conversions, but here you're looking at the real thing. The factory MGB GT V8 is rare. Produced in limited numbers between 1973 and 1976, just 2,591 examples left the Abingdon factory with the excellent Rover 3.5-litre V8 nestled under the bonnet, creating a refined yet exhilarating grand tourer that punched well above its weight. Today, genuine factory cars are increasingly sought after and seldom offered for sale.
This 1975 example benefits from an older restoration and, according to the vendor, presents in very good overall condition in what is described as one of the best colour combinations for the model. The exterior is said to be "virtually ding-free" with lovely paintwork and only very minor age-related marks, while the vendor states the interior presents well with a pleasing patina. Mechanically, the engine was rebuilt some years ago and gas flowed at the time, and a sports exhaust has been fitted. The car has just been serviced and tuned by a classic car specialist, with new brakes also fitted. The vendor states it pulls like a train on the road and has proven to be entirely reliable.
With significant investment by previous custodians through MG specialists, this is a well-documented factory V8 that appears ready to be enjoyed.image.png1.63 MB
