The Appeal

The sliding edge of the 70s saw the Type 2 end production in Europe. While the Type 3 was arguably a more practical load-lugger, it was a much less characterful camper. As a result, these quirky little vans remain the most aspirational as a home away from home. Being the final production year before the much-loved generation came to an end, the 1979 iteration of the van is a particularly hot commodity.

This 1979 example has seen plenty of mechanical investment in recent years, and now awaits some cosmetic work to bring it up to snuff. It's a great base for a restoration, and we think it's sure to attract plenty of interest at auction. Having covered a scant few thousand kilometres in around twenty years, according to the car's MOT and service history, it's no doubt raring for an adventure with its lucky new owner once the work is completed.
