Few cars did more to reshape the modern performance car than the Audi Quattro. Launched in 1980, it brought together turbocharged five-cylinder power and permanent all-wheel drive in a way that was genuinely radical for a road car of its era, while its rallying success helped prove the value of the layout far beyond Audi’s own model range.
