Originally a Land Rover press demonstrator
In current ownership for approximately 20 years
Desirable soft dash model with factory Brooklands bumpers
The Appeal
Anyone who has restored a classic will see past the fact that this Range Rover is partially disassembled. You'll notice the enormous amount of work that has already been completed, making this an excellent basis for a thoroughly rewarding project.
The vendor informs us that this car was a former Land Rover press demonstrator, purchased by the current keeper directly from the first owner approximately 20 years ago. Enthusiasts will note it is the desirable soft dash model with factory Brooklands bumpers. Since then, significant restoration work has been carried out. The body has been rebuilt on a jig to maintain correct alignment, with the rear floor, rear member, and front offside section replaced, and all rust cut out and renewed with fresh metal. It has been self-etch primed and painted before being refitted to the cleaned and repainted chassis with all new mounting bolts. The transmission has been overhauled, new air springs have been fitted, and the wheels have been repainted with new tyres.
So now on to the to-do list: The engine and transmission are not currently fitted to the vehicle but are included along with all other parts packed inside. The transfer box also requires overhaul, and as the photographs attest, the bodywork and interior require assembly and refinishing.
With the demanding bodywork already addressed, this LSE represents an opportunity for a committed enthusiast to complete the restoration of a rare classic. image.png1.36 MB
