The Appeal
The AK 427 is among the most highly regarded Cobra replicas on the market, combining the iconic silhouette and raw driving experience of the original AC Cobra 427 with modern mechanicals and usability. This right-hand drive example is powered by a 6.2-litre GM LS3 V8 producing 488bhp, mated to a Tremec TKO five-speed manual gearbox.
Built by its sole owner as a personal engineering project in 2010 and registered as a new car in 2012, this AK 427 has remained in the same hands throughout its life, with the odometer now indicating 17,568 miles. Those miles have been well used, the car has toured through Spain, Italy, and the French Alps, and has participated in a number of club races over the years. The vendor reports that it behaves well under throttle and braking while cornering, and that with the suspension set to a milder setting, it serves as a very comfortable open tourer.
After a period of dry storage in France, the car has been brought back to the UK, serviced, and fitted with new tyres. It is presented with a new MOT and appears ready to be enjoyed immediately.Alex cobra-47.jpg9.75 MB
