Motodrome are pleased to offer this charming 1954 Land Rover Series 1 86in softtop, in 7 seater configuration
An original UK car, this one is fitted with front bumper pintle, freewheel front hubs, 600x16 tyres, smiths round heater, rear bench seats, and towbar. Also some period extra gauges for oil pressure and water temperature.
At some point around 1995/ 96, the original 2. 0 siamese-bore engine and gearbox were replaced with a nice-running 2. 25 petrol engine and all-synchromesh gearbox from a Series 3. Presumably the Series 3 axles were fitted at the same time.
It comes with a nice history file going back to the mid-1990’s, including an engineers report, a good selection of bills, and old MOT’s.
Obviously being a 1954 vehicle it's now MOT and road tax exempt here in the UK, but up until exemption it seems to have been MOT'd every year.
Both the chassis and bulkhead are seemingly in excellent order, and it drives really well.
