The Appeal
This Chevrolet 3800 is something rarely seen on European roads, which makes it all the more appealing on this side of the Atlantic. Compared to other vans of the period, this is something of a behemoth, with its imposing tall stance and long, sleek body. It has extremely high ground clearance, which makes it the ideal candidate for a go-anywhere camper or overlander.
Overall, it appears to be in very original condition. It has clearly been resprayed relatively recently, otherwise not a lot seems to have changed in the past seventy years. It remains a great example of a very capable truck.
The cab features a wide bench seat which could accommodate three, and lots of period features, such as the pistol-grip operated spot lamp, the split windscreen and single windscreen wiper.
