The approach taken during its restoration, which began in the 1980s, has been one of sympathetic conservation rather than over-restoration: bumper trims, lights, handles and window surrounds have been deliberately kept in their original state, whilst the bodywork was completely stripped to reveal original opening panels with stamped numbers intact.

The interior has been comprehensively refurbished to original specification by a 356 upholstery specialist using period-correct materials, whilst the original metallic blue paintwork has been refinished with a satin clear coat chosen specifically to reproduce the period finish.

At the time this car's restoration began, back in the 1980s, the usual approach was to make them as shiny as possible, often at the cost of originality.
