The Appeal
If you are in the market for a rare and unusual bus, or you simply want a commercial opportunity that really stands out, then look no further. Just 39 Ford ‘Kohn’ G39Ts were built and very few of them were Miesen-coachbuilt examples like this beautiful bus.
It is a very pretty vehicle finished in handsome two-tone grey and cream paintwork with a tidy and very spacious interior. Powered by a Ford Flathead V8 and with 3.5T mass authorised weight, this must be one of the most interesting coaches to hit the market in recent months.
This is an interesting coach with lots of creative commercial potential.
The History and Paperwork
- First registered 15th September 1955
- First registered in the Netherlands on 18th December 2020
- One of the last of the ‘first generation’ Ford FKs
- Built as a FK chassis and coachbuilt by Miesen of Bonn
- Reported by vendor and other sources to be one of 39 G39T built
- Very little is known about these rarities and we invite visitors to tell us more
The Condition
- Chassis built by Ford Kohn and coachbuilt by Miesen
- Most G39Ts were built as ambulances, including by Miesen, so this coach is rare
- Very long wheelbase bus with ample passenger space
- Grey and cream colour scheme looks smart and is generally well presented
- There are some areas of light corrosion to note in the photographs
- The paintwork has also lightly faded in places, such as on the front wings
- Raised roof to maximise interior versatility
- Sits on complementary grey and cream steel wheels
- Tyres appear to be in good condition
- Underside appears to be in good order but may benefit from preventative undersealing
- Black leather front bench seat for driver and front passenger
- Divider with window between cab and passenger area
- Long bench seats down each side of passenger area offering extensive seating
- Side and rear doors with access steps
