The appeal
As its name suggests, the Lincoln Premiere Sedan was the American marque's top-of-the-range model in the 1950s. It offered a grand chariot design, a flexible powertrain perfect for comfort and an interior fit for a king.
This model comes in an eye-catching black and pink colour scheme that carries through to the interior. Chrome trim throughout further enhances this eye-catching specification.
Having been parked in a garage for most of its recent life, this car presents itself in very good overall condition with very few imperfections to note, either inside or out. The engine runs well and the ride is very pleasant.

The interior
- Very original interior
- Superb specification to match the exterior
- A host of on-board luxuries
With its pink and white upholstery, the interior of this Premiere Sedan is a perfect match for the exterior. This, along with the chrome detailing found throughout the cabin, makes for a fantastic interior specification.
According to the vendor, the interior upholstery is all original and has never been redone. As a result, the interior really is almost 70 years old. That said, it still presents itself in fantastic visual condition. The seats look great, as do the door panels and dashboard. The steering wheel details are clearly visible and the headlining is in a good, secure position.
Inside, there are a number of top-of-the-range options. An electronically adjustable front bench, air conditioning, four electric windows, an electric radio aerial and the original radio. However, the car's electronics have a few problems, with faulty rear windows and an aerial that won't extend or retract. The radio is also stuck on US frequencies, unable to pick up local French radio.
The Exterior
- Attractive exterior features
- Fantastic overall condition
In true Lincoln style, this Premiere Sedan is nothing short of a road tank. Long, sleek and with a long rear overhang, it's the definition of American cruising.
With its pink paintwork and black roof, this model presents itself beautifully in a specification that is sure to catch the eye of passers-by. Chrome accents throughout the car give it an elegant look, while whitewall tyres complete the specification.
Overall, the car looks to be in fantastic condition. The paintwork is superb, with very few marks or imperfections. However, the chrome does show some wear. Some minor imperfections on the rear bumper and a few stone chips at the front are the main causes. On the other hand, all the badges and chrome elements are present.
The underside of the car is apparently in good condition, with little damage to note.
Powertrain
- 6-litre V8 engine, 275 bhp
- Three-speed automatic gearbox
- Pleasant to drive
Under the long bonnet of this Premiere Sedan lies a huge 6-litre V8 engine of Lincoln Y-Block design. It delivers a fantastically smooth ride, perfect for a luxury car like this. At its peak, 275bhp is sent to the rear wheels via the three-speed automatic gearbox.
Summary
This Lincoln Premiere Sedan is a luxury car with fantastic features, perfect for Barbie fans and the Lady Penelopes of 'Sentinels of the Air' in waiting.
The set is offered in excellent overall condition, with only a few imperfections to note. The next owner will be sure to make an impression at the wheel. Well behaved thanks to its very American powertrain, this luxury Lincoln is sure to provide a relaxed driving experience.
