The Appeal
Air-cooled Volkswagen aficionados amongst you already know what makes this Beetle special. Before the advent of a full-size rear screen, 1953-57 examples with oval rear windows are especially desirable amongst collectors and the cream of the crop are those with a factory sunroof - the so-called 'Ragtop'.
This example ticks all the right boxes and has also been tastefully modified by lowering the suspension, adding front disc brakes, Porsche Fuchs-style wheels and a more powerful engine - a 1,500 cc 'H' prefix unit which dates it from 1965-70. Well-presented throughout and clearly in very smart condition, this Beetle awaits its next custodian.
