Excellent condition model, thoroughly restored less than 10 years ago
One of two models sold in Shoal Green
The Appeal
An often-forgotten brand and model in UK motoring history, the Standard Motor Company launched its Eight in 1953 as a compact four-door saloon featuring the latest SC overhead valve engine technology.
First registered in 1958, this model is one of just two Standard Eights to be finished in Shoal Green from the factory making it true rarity on British roads. Furthermore, it underwent an extensive restoration between 2012 and 2019 before finally being sold outside of the single family that had owned it until then.
Until now, the car had never made it to the open market having only exchanged hands within its original family and to acquaintances making a total of 3 recorded owners totalling just 28,000 miles.front.jpg922.5 KB
History and Paperwork
Bought from new in South London in 1958
Owned by a single family for most of its life
Dry garage stored for several years
Full restoration undertaken by previous owner from 2012
Having spent much of its life owned by a single family, this 1958 Standard Eight Gold Star is in very good condition, a testament to what the power of love and an extensive restoration will do to a car. It’s finished in the very rare Shoal Green colour, so you’ll struggle to bump into another model like this.
