The Appeal

The Morris Minor is one of an elite group, a car that was both ubiquitous, charming and highly regarded. Practical, economical and affordable, it became a car that everyday people could not only afford but genuinely love. The Minor was small yet roomy, and simple yet a pleasure to drive, remaining so even when fully loaded with passengers and luggage. In 1956, eight years into its life, the car received its biggest update, including a larger one-litre engine, a quicker-shifting gearbox with revised ratios, and one-piece curved front and rear windscreens that improved visibility and gave it a more modern look.

Originally supplied by Timms of Leigh in Lancashire, this beautiful 1959 Minor 1000 is a two-door sedan that was restored by Primrose Classic Cars in 2012. The work included a repaint, retrim and new chrome, as well as rewiring and rebuilding the engine, brakes and front and rear suspension.

Both the grey paint and bright red interior present extremely well, and the seller states that all switches and instruments work correctly. The engine bay is exceptionally clean, and the seller says the car drives very well.

This restored example of one of Britain’s favourite and most charming family cars is ready to be enjoyed by a new owner straight away.
