The Appeal
As the name suggested, the post-war Nuova 500 was all-new, but one feature harked back to the much-loved Topolino: the full-length ‘Transformable’ roof stretching back over driver and passengers to the rear engine.
Although most 500s were built with the smaller folding roof, the full Transformable option remained long into the car’s life. These models are both rare and very sought after by collectors who value originality.
Recent restored and presented with matching numbers, this beautiful Transformable is from the final year of 500D production. It retains its evocative features like the rear-hinged doors and that fully folding roof with its leather retaining strap.
This is a very good example of a characterful and special classic car.
The History and Paperwork
- First registered in Italy on 28th March 1964
- Original registration documents with changes of owner and Revisione stamps

- Red vinyl interior with white piping appears to have been retrimmed to good standard
