The Attractions
Rising like a phoenix from the ashes of post-war Germany, Volkswagen was brought back to life by British Army Major Ivan Hirst, as the Wolfsburg plant had come under British government control. Hirst was chosen specifically for his engineering talent and started Volkswagen's long journey to become the world's largest car manufacturer today. The car that started it all was the Tipo 1, known to all as the 'Beetle', and we are delighted to offer this 1964 example.
An Italian example since its origin, this Beetle was built to a high standard around ten years ago. In recognition of its condition, mileage and history, it has been awarded the prestigious ASI 'Gold' certification and proudly displays the plaque on the front bumper. There are only 31,499 kilometres indicated on the odometer and the seller assures us that this is the real figure. Complete with its original owner's manual, documentation, two sets of keys and a service on the way, this Volkswagen will be ready to be enjoyed by its next owner.
