The appeal

Built for long-distance touring around Europe, the Type 2 Microbus Deluxe “Samba” can be considered one of the forerunners of the modern people carrier. While the examples built in Wolfsburg are becoming increasingly rare, Volkswagen do Brasil also produced these premium Type 2 Split Screen models. The vehicle shown here is a Brazilian example dating from 1965.

BEFORE YOU BUY
This sale is subject to Car & Classic’s standard terms and conditions. By bidding and/or making an offer, you also agree to the following:
✓ The seller is registered as a private seller, meaning that consumer rights arising from European Union consumer protection legislation do not apply. However, you are still covered by Car & Classic’s standard terms and conditions.
✓ We request that non-refundable fees are paid if you are the successful bidder at auction or if your offer is accepted. Please refer to our FAQs and standard terms and conditions for the specific fee amounts.
✓ This vehicle is “sold as seen”, on a “where is, as is” basis and with no warranty. The photos and descriptions are provided for guidance only and it is standard practice to carry out a full inspection of the vehicle before purchase for your own peace of mind.
✓ VAT is included in the buyer’s deposit. VAT may or may not be included in the final price of the offer or submission, as specified in the listing.
✓ We want to make sure the transaction runs smoothly, just like you do, and that’s why UK-registered cars and motorcycles listed on Car & Classic are subject to an HPI check to confirm they show no basic insurance database markers for damage or theft, and that they are not subject to a financial charge—allowing you to bid with confidence.
✓ We also check whether the vehicles are recorded as written off following a total loss claim at the time the listing is placed on Car & Classic and provide category write-off labels (Cat C/D/S/N) to help. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status, so it is always helpful to do a full vehicle history check before making an offer on it.
✓ Buyers are responsible for collection or delivery of the vehicle. Importing vehicles may result in additional customs duties and import taxes. If you’d like, we can recommend a third-party shipping company to help. For more details and to speak to the team, email auctions@carandclassic.com.
