  • Voluntary MOT valid to March 2027 with no advisories

The Appeal

With its robust 4.2L XK straight six, original SWB body and more comfortable cabin, it’s no surprise that the Series II is known as the most usable of E-Types. These cars are perfect for continental touring and classic car events, which feels like the natural home for this impressive 1969 OTS.
Factory records show that it was one of the last E-Types built in 1969, then being dispatched to New York in early 1970. It appears to have spent much of its life in the sunny climes of Florida, before returning to the UK in 1992. The current keeper bought it on its return and has clearly cherished it since.
In the early Twenties it was sent to Aston Martin and Jaguar specialist Newlands Motors for restoration. The work is documented in photos and covered bodywork, mechanicals and running gear, reaching over £48,000 of work. MOT records indicate that the car has covered barely 300 miles since completion. The current voluntary test runs to March 2027 with no advisories.
Now presented in its original cream over blue colour scheme, as confirmed by a JDHT certificate, this is a really good example of the Series II. Aficionados will note the panel fit and attention to detail, like the bespoke fabric tonneau.
Whether you choose to preserve this car for shows or enjoy it on touring drives, becoming its first new keeper in 34 years is a chance to capitalise on the recent investment.

  • Blue leather interior in very good order with original and unmodified fittings
  • Featured wood-rimmed three spoke wheel and classic radio cassette
  • Carpets, door cards and all switch gear are reported to be in good working order
E-Types, perhaps more than most classics, require restoration by those who know them. Those wind-cheating Malcolm Sayer lines need attention from experienced specialists, which is why it is a relief to learn that this car was restored by well-regarded Jaguar specialist Newlands. The quality is evident in the details - take a look at the door and bonnet fit to see what we mean.
A JDHT certificate confirms that the car retains its correct cream over blue colour scheme. There is a matching roof and tonneau too. Inside and out this car reflects that restoration work and that it has been barely used since.

The Mechanics

  • 4,235cc XK six-cylinder engine
  • Triple SU carburettors
  • 4spd fully synchromesh gearbox
  • No advisories on MOT
  • Less than 300 miles since restoration completed
There is a good reason why Jaguar’s XK remained in production from the 1948 to 1992. It is one of the strongest and most durable six cylinders of the era. That long production run also means parts are easy to obtain.
This car’s mechanicals were extensively restored during its restoration a few years ago. You can find out more about the work in the photos. Since completion it has barely covered 300 miles, so arrives with the buyer in good order. That is confirmed by a current voluntary MOT, which runs to March 2027 with no advisories.
