The Appeal
With its wood-panelled back end, the Morris Minor 1000 Traveller is one of the all-time icons of the British road scene and was seen on every street corner from the 1950s to the 1970s.
It remains one of the UK’s most popular classics today, due in no small part to the huge Morris Minor Owners Club, which is responsible for keeping thousands of examples of the Minor and its derivatives still going strong. It’s an easy and fun classic to own.
Based on the Minor saloon but with a structural timber frame to the rear, the Traveller was an hugely resourceful vehicle in its day and earned its place as one of the nation’s favourite cars. It remains one of the most practical classic cars you can buy, as at home earning its keep on dog walks or the tip run as it is at classic car shows.
This one is a 1967 1000 Traveller – an older restoration that remains in great order and has a lovely wooden frame. It’s important on the old Morris, as it’s an integral part of the vehicle’s structure. It’s in tidy condition and has clearly been well-loved - a fantastic opportunity to get behind the wheel of of the UK’s best-loved and most usable classic cars.
The History and Paperwork

- Welded repairs carried out to the underside historically – visibly repaired to a good standard
- Original wheeltrims, wheels and bumpers with gentle patina
- New Nankang radial tyres in very good order
- Original mascot and badge
- Rear wood structure in great order with no visible rot or deterioration other than one small dark patch to top of left rear door
- Red leatherette seats in good order, retrimmed during restoration. Some tarnishing to driver’s seat
