The Appeal
The Morris Minor was prolific to the extreme. Over 1.5 million were built, and like the 2CV and similar economy cars past, there was an obvious benefit to them being used commercially. Small, economic, easy to repair - the simplicity was a huge asset. As a result, from 1953 onwards, the quarter-ton van became a common sight on British roads.
This fabulous van is particularly evocative. Kept by the same family for some 18 years, it carries a charming character that perfectly fits the go-anywhere, do-anything ethos of these little quarter-ton commercials. Carrying an evocative maroon livery with yellow company branding, it's a real little time capsule to a simpler time.
Having fallen on harder times in recent years, this van is now ready and waiting for restoration. We understand that it enjoys an impressive level of originality and is a matching numbers vehicle, still starting and running nicely. All that's left is for the enthusiastic engineer to bring it up to snuff.
