The Appeal
The Series II FHC was the last E-Type to use the original SWB layout introduced with the original 1961 cars. Here is a chance to complete one of the very last of those cars to your precise specification.
The car is the 32nd-to-last RHD coupe to leave the works, first registered in February 1971 on a J plate, one month before the series 3 cars began UK registration. Had been painted red but returned to the original Primrose yellow in 1993. The vendor bought the car in 2008, and a full restoration was started in 2019. The body work has had extensive new panels fitted, including a complete boot floor section, floor pans, rear O/S and N/S inner and outer wings, and rear wheel arches, inner and outer sills and lower bulkhead floor panels. The cost of the panels in 2019 was over £6,700.00 - at today's prices, the vendor says that this would be approximately £10,000.00. With all that work, we're told the buyer gets a very solid body shell as a starting point for the restoration.
The car is in primer, ready to be painted and reassembled. Included are new a interior trim kit with all vinyl covers, carpets and door cards. The vendor says, "The time-consuming and expensive work has been done and is now only requiring painting and reassembly."
