The Appeal
If you wanted innovation, Citroën was where to go. In 1955, they completely revolutionised the industry with the legendary DS. The company's 'goddess' was a space-age executive car that carried more style than a Parisian fashion show and almost as much innovation as a 'Back to the Future' DeLorean.
The DS has become an automotive style icon, and rightfully so. Thanks to their advanced hydro-pneumatic suspension and disc brakes, they were exceptional for ride quality, comfort and handling, and often found themselves flying on rally circuits to great success.
The DS21 Pallas was the transport of choice for des Présidents, Préfets, et plutocrats. The later-introduced Pallas trim offered a luxurious upgrade to keep up with their changing expectations, too. This trim featured new exterior chromework, more design-led upholstery and better sound dampening. Many enthusiasts will tell you this is when the car truly came into its own.
This fabulous 1972 Pallas example first reached British soil in 2005. Believed to have once been the official car of the Maire d’Orléans, this fine car offers a superb prospect - whether it's to restore or use as an eyecatching daily driver. Marque specialist Pallas Auto say WKY 861K has “DS Factor” and is “One of the nicest DS’s we have driven.” We understand that it's ready and waiting to drive away.
