It's no exaggeration to say that the Citroën DS is among the most iconic and technically innovative cars of the twentieth century. Its hydropneumatic self-levelling suspension, directional headlamps, and swooping aerodynamic bodywork were nothing short of revolutionary when it debuted at the 1955 Paris Motor Show, and it remains a design landmark to this day.
This left-hand-drive example is an original French-market D Super with 58,000 km on the odometer. Its first keeper was a lady who covered modest mileage, and the second was the vendor's bank manager in Calais, who had garaged it for some years before selling it in 1998. The vendor has owned it ever since, some 28 years, and drove it regularly in the early years, displaying it at shows along the way. We're informed that it was last serviced in early 2023. Corrosion has developed during its time in the Irish climate and will require attention, but for those seeking a largely original, three-owner DS, this is well worth a closer look.20260329_165148 Paul Hardy.jpg3.17 MB
