The Appeal

Famous for upending the automotive sales market in the UK in the 1970s, the Datsun 120Y certainly made itself known. In an era of strikes and scarcity, when many British-built cars were hard to come by, the 120Y gained a reputation for being available in the dealerships, as well as actually being able to start on a cold morning.
This particular 120Y is finished in a fetching shade of turquoise, which suits it perfectly, along with its ‘pie dish’ hubcaps and sharp ‘70s styling. It even retains its original carpets, which were often replaced in favour of less strikingly patterned upholstery.
It is said to drive beautifully, as you would expect from a 120Y. The engine runs quietly and it evokes the spirit of optimistic change with aplomb.
