The Appeal

In 1975, seven years on from the advent of the William Heynes’ XJ, Jaguar was finally ready to release a two-door coupé variant. Featuring a svelte pillarless design, while retaining the majestic styling and opulent interiors of the standard XJ, the XJ-C was regarded as one of the most stylish cars of its era.
This 4.2-litre straight-six example is in very good condition for its age, having been dry-stored and used sparingly throughout the vendor’s fourteen-year ownership. It’s commendably original, retaining the vinyl roof all XJ-Cs had from the factory, as well as the desirable velour upholstery which is in lovely condition. The Jaguar has also been subject to recent recommissioning work, with new fuel tanks and fuel pumps fitted, ensuring that the engine runs well and the car is ready for the road. Exempt from road tax and MOT, this big cat would be the perfect addition to any collection.
