Highlights
- Tidy and usable GS survivor
- Great details like rear louvred screen
- Well preserved tan vinyl interior
- Large history file including registration documents
The Appeal
Then Traction Avant, 2CV and DS may grab the limelight, but it’s the GS that is arguably one of Citroën’s most influential cars. Cleverly straddling the line between characterful and conventional, it was a huge sales success and its stylish fastback profile had a huge impact on future car design.
Survivors are surprisingly hard to find these days, so we welcome the discovery of this very tidy GS Club. It retains the early car’s classic slim chrome bumpers that complement Robert Opron’s clever design. The green paintwork with its gold coachline presents well, with a few points to note in the photos. Inside the tan vinyl cabin is well preserved and very usable.
The car comes with a good history file. A great find for the many fans of these clever family cars.
