Produced over eighteen years, SL parts availability and specialist know-how is abundant and the reason these cars sold so well for so long is that they were supremely accomplished.
This 1986 300 SL represents a sweet spot in the broad R107 range, as the most powerful of the straight-six models before you enter the realms of fuelling and maintaining a V8. This car is commendably original, retaining its factory colour scheme and interior making it an attractive proposition to Mercedes-Benz collectors. Following a long period of dry storage, the vendor reports that it starts readily, displays good oil pressure and drives well. Once MOT tested, this SL will be ready to hit the road once more.

- Some paint bubbles visible atop the front wing (top of the headlight) - which is common for R107 models.
- Some perishing to the tyre sidewalls
- The folding roof has some fogging to the flexible windows but presents well otherwise
- There’s some pitting to the chrome trim, but nothing notable
- The lights and badges present well
- The MB Tex upholstery looks in lovely condition for its age with little in the way of heavy wear
- Besides some small marks, the alloy wheels present really well
- Windscreen wipers are currently not working and will require investigation

- If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
