The Appeal
A legend not just in hot hatch-circles, but worldwide, the MK2 Golf may well be one of the most famous and instantly recognisable cars to ever roll out of Europe. Of the MK2s, perhaps the most desired by the '80s petrolhead public was the GTi - with its 16-valve engine and sporty trims creating a whole new breed of hot-hatch that inspired a generation.
This example is highly original, with its period interior beautifully presented. It's an excellent ambassador to its model - and is still eminently usable as a retro daily driver.
