The Appeal
We can only imagine how fearful Jeep, Land Rover and Toyota must have been when the G-Wagen came to market in 1979. Developed by Steyr in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz, it was a game changer in the 4x4 field, proving stronger and more capable than just about anything else money could buy. Much like the Range Rover, today, the G-Wagen is a paragon of luxury, yet, during its early days, it was far more utilitarian.
We’re delighted to offer this highly original and well-maintained 1987 300 GD M4 which is presented in very good, usable condition. The previous owner stored the G-Wagen for around ten years, barely using it during this time, and the vendor has seldom driven it during their (circa) eight-year tenure too - although they have carried out a great deal of work.
The 56,511 miles indicated on the odometer are believed correct, based on the surviving paperwork, and the G-Wagen has had just three registered keepers from new. Complete with an MOT valid until 22nd April 2025, this well-sorted classic offroader is ready to enjoy.
