The Attractions

The 930 Turbo saved the 911. By homologating it for racing, it catapulted it into the modern era.

The 1987 model year of the 930 is particularly sought-after. That was the year the Turbo was equipped with the 3.3-litre version with 330 hp of the all-aluminium boxer engine along with a series of cosmetic improvements. The cabriolet version arrived in the same year and this car, number 106, is one of the first built.

The seller informs us that it is one of only 141 European-spec Turbo Cabriolets built that year and that only 628 were built in total. It is certainly one of the best, a beautiful Marine Blue coloured car with only two previous owners and 41,563 documented kilometres. Its history is known from day one and has been owned by the seller since 1992.

With ASI certification and valid MOT, this is an excellent opportunity to secure the most powerful and rarest version of the iconic 930 Turbo.

Beautiful in its elegant Marine Blue metallic colour, this 1987 930 reminds us how attractive these iconic cars are. The 1987 model received slight cosmetic improvements, which this car retains. The exterior is complemented by an elegant beige leather interior.

It is in excellent condition both inside and out. All surfaces, including the underbody, testify to the care of the two owners and the very low mileage.

The Mechanics

  • 1987 model with 3,299 cm³ turbocharged engine with 330 hp
  • 4-speed manual gearbox
  • 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds
  • Good maintenance history, including recent servicing by an Italian Porsche dealer
  • No running or driving problems reported to us
The original 930 turbocharged the 911, but Porsche as is its wont did not rest on its laurels. In 1987 the car received a further increase in displacement to 3.3 litres and 330 hp - a 27 per cent increase over the original 930's 260 hp. This car retains the 4-speed manual gearbox favoured by enthusiasts.

With only two previous owners, the second of whom kept it with him for 32 years, its historical documentation is complete and detailed. Recent work has been carried out at a local Porsche dealer. It is offered for sale with overhaul valid until July 2024 and we are told it drives exactly as it should.
