The Appeal
Until the arrival of the Boxster in 1996, the 944 was the most successful seller in Porsche's history, sitting between the more budget-friendly 924 and range-topping 928 in Porsche’s front-engined range. The ultimate version was the Turbo S, a model designation which only existed for one year before its high-performance enhancements became standard across all 944 Turbo models.
Here we have one such example which has recently been meticulously restored to a very high standard. A great deal of attention has been paid to the finer details, preserving as much of its originality as possible. The mechanicals have been rebuilt and upgraded, making this 944 amongst the most dynamically impressive you’re likely to find. This truly is an exemplary specimen, so don’t miss the opportunity to make it yours.
The History and Paperwork
- Very rare 944 Turbo S
- Restoration was finished recently (300 km ago) and all the work is documented
- One year only ‘Turbo S’ model - one of only 1635 Turbo S produced
- Originally registered in Germany
- Imported to Hungary in the mid-90s
- Stored in a garage from 2007 until 2021 when the current owner decided to restore it
- All original equipment is provided, allowing for easy restoration to factory settings if desired
The Condition
- Original Silver Rose Metallic paintwork in superb condition
- Very straight and free from any obvious damage
- All presents well underneath, with any corrosion rectified during the recent restoration
- Repainted inside and out, except underneath where the factory finish was still very well preserved
- All chassis components are now internally wax-protected
- Extra sound deadening was installed in the cabin, below the seats
- New upholstery and carpet throughout the interior
- It comes with a Pioneer radio with Bluetooth module, and a Blaupunkt unit is also included
The Mechanics
- The engine has been rebuilt with new bearings, rings, seals, and much more however there is a very small oil leak
- Upgraded to a dry turbo with an uprated compressor wheel
- All exhaust components up to the catalytic converter are ceramic-coated
- Power steering has been converted to a rare short-ratio manual steering rack
- A new kevlar-reinforced clutch
- All new brakes front and rear, with new hand brake components
- Fully refurbished master cylinder and clutch master-slave cylinder
- New catalytic converter installed
- The only missing element is a charge for the AC: all lines, seals and even the compressor are new, along with it being rebuilt, it just requires gassing
- We’re assured that it runs and drives very well, with no apparent faults

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.
Auto-bidding increments
- If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
- If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.

- Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
- We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Automatically outbid immediately
