The Appeal
After a series of tragic accidents forced the demise of Group B in 1986, the FIA introduced its biggest set of rules and regulations yet for what would become Group A the following year. Lancia’s Delta S4 no longer met FIA requirements, as under its familiar skin lay a tubular space frame and near F1 car performance. The new car would have to be closer to the roadgoing Delta, which also meant Lancia would need to homologate a new road car - the now legendary ‘Integrale’.
This 8-valve 1989 HF Integrale is rather rare, as the vendor believes its the only of its kind to have been converted to right-hand drive by its supplying dealer in the UK. Records suggest the first UK-supplied HF Integrales were only sold in left-hand drive, with right-hand drive conversions carried out from the start of 16-valve production.
Rarity aside, this car looks to be in lovely condition and is highly original. The vendor assures us that it is entirely free from corrosion and drives very well indeed. Still equipped with a British registration, it would be a great candidate to bring back to the UK, or, convert back to left-hand drive as the vendor has supplied the kit to do so with the car.
