The Appeal
The 166 was Alfa Romeo's big statement piece - a brand new saloon that would take the fight to the firm's German rivals. Although it was developed as part of the 'Type Four' project with SAAB and Lancia, this was every inch an Alfa.
For all those reasons enthusiasts love these cars. Even to the uninitiated they are a great executive saloon - supremely comfortable, agile as only an Alfa Romeo can be and equipped with some great engines.
This one has perhaps one of Alfa Romeo's greatest motors: the Busso V6. This late 164 has the 24V version that dials up the performance even further.
it is a very rare survivor in great condition and a particularly compelling colour scheme.
