The Appeal

Everybody loves a Mini Cooper. They are an enthralling little car to own and ‘Freddie’ has been so lovingly maintained and cared for you can be sure he will provide any new owner with oodles of fun and frolics for years to come. Everone has to have owned a Mini at some point in their lives so you may as well buy into one with an impeccable history.

The History and Paperwork

  • Copious Invoices available
  • Stack of previous MOT certificates
  • Body Restoration with Invoices
  • Engine Rebuild with Invoices
  • MOT until September 23
  • Valid V5
Here’s a Mini that has all the care and attention bestowed upon it that a devoted owner could possibly manage. The car has had what you could call a ‘money no object’ maintenance regime. Owned by a Lady Mini fanatic since 2009, the car has not only been serviced as it should but rust has been chased away by changing a multitude of panels and the engine has received a full rebuild. Dry stored when not used and only allowed out on high days and holidays this is a Cooper that will find a new home rather quickly. There is a comprehensive file of MOT certificates and invoices that document this little car’s life as well as photographic evidence of the body restoration.

The Interior

  • Original Seat Material
  • Original Door Cards and Furniture
  • Intact Veneered Dashboard
  • Original Carpeting
Freddie has a completely standard interior but as he is one of the late versions he possesses the wood veneered dashboard and white dials. All the seats and carpets are original and show the right amount of wear without looking shabby. There are no tears or burns anywhere and everything works as it should. The owner has been able to track down an original gear knob which so often is replaced for something trendy. It may be a little frayed but it is right for the car and helps retain the originality. The headlining is good and the car has not been smoked in.

The Exterior

  • Original Sports Pack Arches
  • 4 Auxilliary Spotlamps
  • Original Wheels
  • Checkered Roof
  • Several Replacement Panels
  • Resprayed in 2010
The overall finish of the car is good and retains a nice deep gloss from its respray in 2010. It is not without a few stone chips and scratches here and there but there does appear to be a distinct lack of rust on the major panels. Freddie has been left standard where possible and still wears the original Minilite style rims which are in great condition. The bumpers and grille are all still nice and bright and the row of spot lamps does set the car off nicely. The owner has a spare pair of external door handles to go with the car even though the originals are in good order and serviceable.

The Mechanics

  • Rebuilt 1275cc Engine
  • Single Point Injection
  • Upgraded Roller Rockers
  • Copious amount of Invoices on file
  • Excellent Service History
Freddie is a great-looking Cooper, finished in green metallic with wide arches and those distinctive spot lamps. Under the skin, he has been kept pretty much as the factory intended and has been maintained extremely well. The 1275cc Single Point Injection engine enjoyed a rebuild before 2009 which included the fitment of a set of roller rockers. The engine sounds crisp and throaty, particularly with that sporty centre exit exhaust system.

There has been ongoing maintenance over the last 15 years and Freddie has wanted for nothing. The respray in 2010 included replacing rusty panels with Heritage items and the whole car has been Waxoyled and undersealed.

Summary

The Rover Mini is just as popular now than ever with a huge network of specialised manufacturers and dealers of just about anything your Mini could ever need or want. Freddie has been treated exceptionally well by his Lady owner over the last 13 years. He has been her pride and joy and has been entered into the London to Brighton Mini Run for many years.

Kept covered in the garage when not in use, Freddie has managed to escape the harsher conditions and only comes out when the sun shines. As the rather significant history file shows, Freddie has had everything he needed to remain in this great overall condition. Everyone loves a Mini and it is obvious that this one has indeed been loved. So, if there’s someone out there that can keep Freddie in the lifestyle that he has become accustomed to, get bidding.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £9,999 £100.00
£10,000 to £49,999 £250.00
£50,000 to £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

Pre-authorisation

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
