Unlike the flimsy British roadsters of old, the SL is one of the few open cars that can stand up to the rigours of long-distance touring while ensuring you arrive at your destination cool and unflustered. The R129 was packed with tech too and a particular highlight was the ‘electro-hydraulic’ folding hood which could bee seamlessly stowed at a touch of a button in a matter of seconds.
Here we have a lovely late example, a 1999 SL 320 in metallic blue, complete with its matching removable hard top. It’s in very good, usable condition and shows just 56,432 miles on the odometer. Offered with a valid MOT and collection of history paperwork, this Mercedes is ready to enjoy.
