The Appeal
Hymer is one of the best-known and most well-regarded names in the motorhome industry, having been involved in the manufacture of caravans and camper vans since 1956.
The company is respected as one of the more high-end and premium names in the business, with a background in building motor caravans on Mercedes-Benz and Fiat chassis.
Unlike most converters, though, Hymer creates entirely bespoke bodywork. Rather than retaining the original cab, Hymer motorhomes have a bespoke one-piece body allowing walk-through access to the cabin along with rotating captains’ seats that double up as armchairs when parked on caravan sites.
This example is one of Hymer’s Fiat-based vans, using the chassis of a 2001 Fiat Ducato medium wheelbase as a base. The Ducato has long been a popular camper conversion, not least because it’s a tough and reliable van that’s also both lively and easy to drive.
The vendor has owned it for four years and has enjoyed a number of trips away in the van, which also comes with a Thule detachable awning and rear bike rack. It is freshly serviced and has an MOT valid until March 2025.

The exterior of the vehicle has the lockers you would expect for gas bottles and the cassette toilet and is in good overall order, though the side graphics are faded slightly. An aftermarket Thule awning is also a bonus and is almost new, giving extra flexibility on campsites.
This Hymer is classed as a 3 berth, with a drop-down double bed plus 1 single bed with 1x rear seat (with seatbelt).
It’s well-appointed and spotlessly clean inside, with an oven, hob, microwave, LPG-heated shower, cassette toilet and plenty of storage space, including a number of fixtures and fittings that are included in the sale.
