The Appeal
Developed during Cadillac’s ‘edge’ design period under the tutelage of GM’s famed designer Wayne Cherry, the XLR used the C6 Corvette’s agile Y platform but aimed for something altogether more grand touring and luxury. Beneath the bonnet was the firm’s Northstar V8 in naturally aspirated or supercharged form.
This very low mileage 2005 car was first UK registered in 2006. It has had just four keepers since, the current one since 2019. The black metallic paintwork and full grey leather cabin, with its extensive wood trim, are in fine order. The car is fitted with eye-catching polished TSW alloys that dial up the drama.
The MOT history indicates that it has covered just 12,999 miles from new, which is supported by MOT records. The current test runs to September 2026 with no advisories.
Equipped with the same clever folding hard top of the R230 Mercedes, this very tidy, 320bhp rocketship would make a great European road trip companion.
